So first we receive an image of four horsemen who will begin
the battle by charging into the enemy’s gates.
They shall attack so swiftly that the enemy will be caught completely
unawares. These four will throw the city
into disarray. The purpose is to make
way for the King who is coming into the city.
It is a lightning fast strike so that the enemy would not have time to
retaliate.
Then the King’s trumpeters will sound the fanfare, as
trumpeters in ancient times announced the coming of the King. This would inspire those who serve the King and
strike terror into the hearts of those within the city who have joined the
usurper. It would serve to further throw
the city into disarray so that no one would stand against the King when He
arrived.
Then the King Himself would come in all His glory, and
everyone in the city would see Him and bow before Him. The inhabitants of the city, who love the
city and its current usurping king, would tremble in fear at the terror of
seeing this Great King enter “their” city.
They would tremble and bow before Him in hopes that He would not destroy
them right then and there. His servants
in the city, those who rebelled against the usurping king, would bow before Him
in reverence and awe, emboldened by the hope that seeing Him would bring
them. The rebellious would know that this
King will bring death and destruction to them.
The obedient would know that their salvation has finally come. Up until that time, the obedient servants
within the city have been abused and mistreated and killed. Now, it is their turn to exact justice upon
those who abused them.
